My Blog Relaunch Story

Welcome to my new and improved blog!

Today I wanted to explain why I made the decision to create a whole new blog from scratch and what you can expect from here onwards. I will also contrast this blog with my previous blog,, as well as explain where the inspiration for the name 'Petals and Chains' came from.

New Year, New Name

As I’m sure many of you have noticed, I’ve re-branded myself with a new surname; Davis. Today I’m going to explain why I’ve done this and the events that have lead me to finalise this change.

Hello everyone!

Today was the first time I was dreading to go to my session. I’m not sure for what reason exactly,  but I think it’s due to the fact that these last two weeks have been really difficult and the stability of my mental health has been challenged a lot. That’s also the reason why I haven’t written any blog posts since my last session, so apologies for that.

Despite my dread, I’ve actually had one of the best sessions so far,  and I left feeling so much more in control and happier.

Hello everyone!

First of all I want to say that I’m really grateful to everyone that has read the previous therapy posts and followed me on this journey. All the support I’ve received is so heartwarming, so thank you!

I was apprehensive about today’s session, because it would be the first time we set out my treatment plan. Basically, today was the day where the real hard work began.

Hello everyone!

At the start of my third session I felt particularly anxious (how ironic?!) and I’m not sure for what reason, but when I got inside our meeting room and sat down, I realised what I was anxious about. In my previous two sessions, we had only discussed the cause of the mental illness and I hadn’t received any tips or advice on how to manage or reduce the symptoms of my mental illness. I guess I was just eager to get learning tips to manage it and take control.

Hello everyone!

Today I had my second therapy session. I had to wait almost a month since my last session due to my therapist not working over the holiday season, but as of now, I will have weekly sessions which I’m very excited about.

Hello everyone!

From today, I will be starting a series of eight blog posts where I talk about my experiences of therapy; in particular CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). After a six month wait on the NHS, today was my first of eight sessions. I hope some of you find this helpful or interesting!
